BERYLLS STRATEGY ADVISORS: STUDY TOP 100 AUTOMOTIVE SUPPLIERS IN 2018.
For the eighth time Berylls Strategy Advisors has examined the global automotive supplier industry as part of its “Top 100 Automotive Suppliers” study. The sales record of 2017 was clearly exceeded with a growth of 7.6% to 889 billion euros in 2018 – but at the expense of profitability: Among other things, extensive investments in future technologies such as connectivity, autonomous driving and electrification led to shrinking margins. The transformation of the industry is progressing at an even faster pace and results in a new dimension of M&A activities. Chinese suppliers are playing an increasingly important role on a global scale and are clearly among the rising stars of the year.
BERYLlS RECEIVES THE BESTE BERATER AWARD FOR THE FOURTH TIME IN A ROW.
The business magazine brand eins Wissen and the statistics portal Statista once again honor Berylls Strategy Advisors with the Beste Berater Award – for the fourth time in a row. With three top rankings, one in the automotive & supplier sector and another in the fields of strategy development and innovation & growth, the young company can build on the success it has enjoyed since 2016.
BERYLlS STUDY ON MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS (M&A) OF AUTOMOTIVE COMPANIES.
257 automotive companies in the DACH region changed hands in 2017, according to the extensive M&A study by Berylls Strategy Advisors. The number of successful takeovers reached a peak last year. The large number of company takeovers by “digital players” is remarkable. Acquisitions in this area are apparently intended to advance the digital transformation of the automotive industry, which is still conventional in many areas. However, the vast majority of M&A activities continue to be carried out by companies with a classic focus. Here again European, especially German automotive companies are in the crosshairs of foreign, often American and Chinese investors. However, there is no sign of know-how being sold off to China. The buying rally will continue unabated in 2018.
BERYLLS STRATEGY ADVISORS: STUDY TOP 100 AUTOMOTIVE SUPPLIERS IN 2017.
Last year was another record year for the supplier industry. The total turnover of the TOP 100 with 834.6 billion euros is 1,1 percent above last year’s mark. The automotive industry is booming, with 94.5 million cars sold worldwide – more than ever before (2016: 92.2 million, 2015: 88.2 million). Looking at the year 2015, the turnover of the TOP 100 suppliers has grown by 5.8 percent. The group of 18 German companies among the TOP 100 delivers a brilliant picture and again performs better than in the previous year, their returns are only surpassed by those of the US companies. The Japanese are doing well too. More than half of the South Korean suppliers, on the other hand, are recording sales declines, while Chinese competitors are posting strong growth.
