Consider the following number: in August, 42%<\/strong> of the AUTO100 Index\u2019s global market capitalization was held by companies which did not even exist in 2000 (Figure 1<\/em>)\u00b9. That gives you some sense of the scale of disruption experienced by the industry in the past two decades, powered by the rise of electric mobility and the growing importance of connected, shared and autonomous vehicle technology. For an industry with more than 130 years of history, the question arises, what can traditional players learn from the new breed of automotive companies \u2013 and vice-versa. Both sides stand to benefit by asking: what do they have that we don\u2019t?<\/p>
